Introduction

This function allows you to display the records in a database file. The Desk Top is used to help you keep track of work in progress and to allow you access to each of the various subsystems supported. You can access the various subsystems by using the command keys you see listed across the bottom of your display. When you have work in progress, those items on which you are working will be listed on the display with a description supplied by the source subsytem. You may work with any of the objects directly by entering the "Work with" option 2 to the left of the object on the list and then pressing the "Enter" key. As you work with options within a subsystem. the subsystem may place those items on your desk top. When you have properly completed the processing of those items, the subsystem will then remove the items from your desk top.

Positioning function

You may control which records from the file appear on the display by using the 'positioning' fields that appear on the upper part of the screen. When you enter a positioning value, the program will position the display to start with the record that you specify.
