Introduction

This function allows you to display the records in a database file. When assigning inventory, there differences in what is displayed depending on the condition selected on the display. When the condition selected is "*" (new), the quantity listed as on hand is the actual quantity of new product stored in inventory. The available quantity is the number of units not allocated (reserved) for customer orders. When the condition selected is unservicable (all conditions other than new) the units listed as on hand is the total units for the condition selected. However, the units listed as available represents the total units of all conditions other than servicable (new). When assigning new product, you cannot assign more than what is available. There are cicumstances under which more inventory may be allocated than is actually on hand. This can occur when the control value for "Inventory Allocation" is set to yes. This will cause units to be allocated to all ordered quantities regardless of on hand quantity. As a result, you my be prevented from assigning the desired number of units to your transaction. When there is no condition selected, the on hand quantity and the available is for all units and the result are the same as if you had selected any unservicable condition.
